Have you had big fillings in your teeth and wondered how they will last for the rest of your life?
Have you lost a tooth and do not like how this looks and/or feels?
Want to improve your smile?
Then indirect restorations such as crown/Cap, bridge and/ or veneers may be right for you!
Before deciding what treatments are right for you, our compassionate and experienced dental team takes the time to
do a comprehensive examination of your teeth and gums and listen to your wants and needs before suggesting appropriate care for you.
We want to give you back the confidence to chew, smile, and speak for years to come. Our indirect restorations are created just for you, fitting in seamlessly with the rest of your teeth. The colour, shape, and size are custom-made for you, so no one else will know it is there!
A Crown, otherwise known as a cap, goes over the top of an existing tooth. If we were to add a crown directly over your existing tooth, it would be too big and bulky. We slightly trim down the tooth, about 1mm around and on top, to protect and restore the strength of the tooth. In most cases, an old filling is present and needs to be replaced prior to crown preparation to ensure the dental crown is of high quality without underlying issues.
The many reasons people get a crown include:
A Bridge may be the right solution for a gap in your smile where you are missing a tooth. Whilst there are several options for replacing teeth, such as implants and dentures, bridges can suit some people's budgets and lifestyles much better.
Unlike a denture, a bridge is fixed in the mouth and does not get removed by the patient for eating, speaking, cleaning their teeth and gums, or even at dental appointments. As a fixed tooth replacement, you will feel confident, and the bridge will be stable, safe and secure.
A bridge is created by using one tooth on either side of the gap and a fake tooth where the missing one was. The teeth that attach to the bridge need to be examined and deemed healthy before commencing. The colour is specific and tailored to you and to match the rest of your remaining teeth.
Our crowns, bridges and veneers are mostly created from ceramic or porcelain. Each is made in an Australian laboratory and fully customised to suit your needs.
Firstly, in the dental chair, the tooth is often prepared and then scanned for a completely accurate experience. The colour is chosen with the patient's acceptance and sent to the laboratory to be made by our talented dental technicians.
The process involves 2 visits, approximately 2 weeks apart. In between visits, we provide a temporary covering of the tooth to prevent sensitivity and restore function in the interim.
During your visit, once the work is back from the laboratory, we will cement your permanent crown or bridge. We teach you how to look after this area by brushing twice daily, flossing or using interproximal brushes daily, eating a healthy diet, and having regular check-ups 6 monthly. Your dental work will last for many years to come!
Getting dentures can be daunting for some, wondering how realistic they will look and feel.
At Evolution Dental Care, we take the time to complete thorough assessments of your face and smile and take into consideration your wants and needs when providing you with high-quality and realistic dentures.
Our fantastic dental technicians will make them customised to your every need, both for function in eating and speaking, as well as how they look.
It is very important to us that you are happy, satisfied and comfortable with the dentures you walk out with.
Dentures can be likened to a new pair of leather shoes. When you first get them, they may feel a bit tight, rub in places, and take some wearing in.
We schedule some follow-up appointments to make sure we get their fit just right and comfortable for you.We recommend starting out wearing your brand-new dentures just a few hours a day, building up to soft foods, and then, eventually, your normal diet.
Unfortunately, due to the thickness of denture materials, they will never feel just like your natural teeth.
This is why so many of our patients are opting to have dentures that are attached to a number of dental implants. You may have heard the terms "All on four" or "All on Six" referring to dentures attached to implants. These implants made of titanium posts are inserted into your jawbone via a surgical procedure using local anaesthetic. The implant is accepted into the bone in a way similar to that of a normal tooth root. After this has been properly integrated, we can create a denture, called an over-denture, to be fixed to the implants. This makes it feel more comfortable than a denture on its own, and it generally allows patients to feel more confident with their mouth, speech, and chewing, as the implant makes the denture semi-fixed into the mouth.
We want our patients to feel confident in smiling, speaking, and eating. From one missing tooth to a whole mouth of missing teeth, dental implants can help restore your mouth to a more comfortable and efficient state.
Dentures can get loose and need to be relined and replaced over the years. Implants can be placed to suit various different situations to allow you the freedom to go about your day-to-day life without the worry of your denture dropping down, a list, and lack of taste, just to name a few.
Dental implants are the gold standard in tooth replacement. They are the most life-like replacement available in today's dental world.
Dental implants are made out of strong, bio-compatible titanium. Surgery is required, under local anaesthetic, to place the implant in your jaw. After a period of time, the implant will integrate with your body and become stable; then, it is ready for a tooth replacement either via a dental crown, bridge or over-denture, which fixes onto the implant.
Regardless of your dental needs, a dental implant gives you a permanent result.
Whilst Evolution Dental Care does not place the initial implants, we are more than happy to help assess them, refer you to the appropriate specialist for implant placement, and then welcome you back for the final tooth provision.
