Orofacial Myofunctional therapy helps:

Orofacial Myofunctional therapy helps:

Speech - Incorrect speech patterns
Growth and development of the face and jaws
Retraining to breathe effectively through the nose.
Correct breathing disorders after ENT surgeries.
Facial Pain
Sleep disorders
TMJ/Jaw pain
Bruxism - clenching and grinding of teeth
Breathing dysfunctions
Incorrect Chewing and swallowing
Facial posture
Thumb sucking
Tongue tie
Coralie combines her Orofacial myofunctional therapy exercises with Buteyko breathing techniques, Posture correction exercises, Functional Neuromyofascial massage technique, Myo Munchee mouth pieces, Dry needling, Splint therapy and Interceptive orthodontics.

Oro facial myologists are not speech therapists unless they are trained in both professions. We work as a collaborative team. Speech pathologists see a remarkable improvement in speech when the orofacial muscles gain strength and are taught to function properly.
Many regression problems require consideration of more than one predictor, multifactorial you could say. Approaching your care with multifactorial disciplines is the key to being able to treat the causes of illness.

What Is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a form of complementary medicine that focuses on treating pain and movement impairments using fine needles targeted at trigger points. Trigger points are tender points in the skeletal muscle that can cause pain when squeezed or pressed.

The extremely small injuries created after the needle is being inserted into the skin may trigger a local healing process in the affected area. This results in an effective improvement of the body's normal functioning through its own intrinsic and natural healing process. Dry needling can stimulate the neural pathways that block pain by creating a disruption on the pain messages sent to the nervous central system.

What Is the Difference Between Acupuncture and Dry Needling?

Acupuncture is a branch of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that involves the insertion of fine needles into the person's skin to help relieve pain as well as rebalance the body's natural energy called chi. Unlike acupuncture, dry needling does not concentrate on balancing the chi.

Fast and Functional Neuromyofascial technique

First and Functional is a functional neuromyofascial technique because very intentional and specific soft tissue manipulation can resolve pain and restore movement in seconds.

It is functional because movement is retested immediately during treatment and the location of manipulation is adjusted depending on where the patient feels pain or restriction. This means that the treatment is patient guided and it means the therapist can work towards full pain-free, stiffness-free function before prescribing conditioning exercises.

The Myo Munchee is a simple but effective oral appliance that I use a lot in my myofunctional therapy practice, especially when I’m working with younger children.

The Myo Munchee is a great way to exercise the oral muscles. It’s designed to help with nasal breathing and chewing, while assisting facial growth and tooth development. It’s also an excellent way to help address a sucking habit.
